Pasture Raised Non-GMO Pork CSA
Pigs on pasture are happy and healthy pigs! Our pork has incredible flavor and customers rave about the quality of the meat! We raise heritage breeds from local VT farms known for their ability to thrive outdoors and produce high quality meat. Our pigs have access to the outdoors as soon as we pick them up and are eager to browse through the grass and soil for worms, roots, and grubs. They receive a diverse diet from their pasture, non-GMO grain from Green Mountain Feeds, vegetable scraps from restaurants we sell to, and vegetables from our fields. They particularly enjoy broccoli stalks, squash and apples!
Our finished pork is sold in bulk--in quantities of whole animals, halves and/or quarters. The price is $6.00/hanging weight pound, which translates to roughly $9.99/lb of finished meat. We do not smoke any cuts, but we can have them specialty cut, so you can have them smoked after you pick them up at your own cost. The final weight of each animal determines the exact total price. Our hanging weight for whole pigs ranges from 150 to 250 lbs. You will get back approximately 65% of the hanging weight in meat cuts. The finished pork is cut into chops, roasts, country style ribs, pork belly (fresh bacon), ham steaks and sausage, with the option for more customization by special request.
You reserve your share with a deposit, and we fill reservations in the order we receive them, so the bigger pigs go to those who sign up early (unless you specifically request a smaller pig). We contact you when your order is ready and you pick up your order at our farm and pay the balance at that time.

We are offering 1/4, 1/2 and whole pig shares. Our 2019 slaughter date is during the week of October 14th. Exact date TBD, but will update ASAP. Pick up is generally about 1-2 weeks after slaughter, and shares must be picked up the day we pick them up.

**We ask for a minimum deposit; however, if you are able to put down more this will greatly help offset the cost of grain. Another way to think about it, the more you pay up front, the less you pay at pick up.
